Welcome to Family’s May blog!
We’re mid-spring now, and the dog days of summer are thankfully still months away. There’s time to enjoy the nicer days out before the summer comes crashing in. For all the beautiful things it brings us, it does bring the heat.
What are you doing to combat driving in a hot car? Do you have a plan for how to proceed coolly into the hottest months of the year? Here’s our checklist of things to watch for as summer arrives
Use simple physics to correct the problem. If you roll down the back windows, you can use your driver’s door to take in and push the hot air out through the rear windows. It’s a quick way to get the air in the vehicle at least liveable! If your air conditioner is in good shape, it should get cool air coming in again quickly.
Be on the lookout for shade. Always keep an eye out for where the sun is and where it will be. Getting your car into a shady spot, or a soon-to-be shady spot, can prevent a lot of door-pumping later.
Buy a window screen for the car’s front window. A sunscreen can help keep the heat out of your vehicle and folds up neatly for storage.
Get your fluids, and A/C checked out. Make sure your car’s internal struggle is supported by testing the A/C and making sure that you have all the proper fluids topped up, especially oil and coolant.
