If you want to get away for a day trip, Family Auto Service has five day trip ideas for you that are within San Diego County.
First, let us mention how much we love San Diego County. We really don’t have to travel far to enjoy some beautiful scenery. For example, Sunset Cliffs is one of our favorite beaches. We’ve been coming to this beach since childhood and we all took turns jumping off the cliffs into the water below. You can stay here all day, if you wish, and soak in the sunshine. Be sure to bring sunscreen! For directions, click here.
Second, you can’t miss out on Balboa Park and all that is has to offer. Yes, it is in our backyard, and yes, it isn’t fully open, but when was the last time you spent quality time with the family walking around the gardens? Our favorite time to go to Balboa Park, believe it or not, is at night when all the lights make the park look glamorous like old-school Hollywood. For directions, click here.
For your third day trip idea, try Carlsbad Strawberry Company. We recently took the family here to pick flats of strawberries and we had a blast! Not only do they offer fresh and sweet strawberries, but they offer an array of produce you can purchase and take home. It allows you to feel closer to Mother Nature and appreciate everyone working hard in the agriculture industry. For directions, click here.
Our fourth suggestion for a day trip is Viejas Mountain. If you like to hike and see the majestic scenery God created for his children, you want to trek up Viejas Mountain. Located near Alpine, it has gorgeous wildflowers, lots of birdwatching, and the trails allow your canine companions to join your hike. For directions, click here.
Our fifth and final day trip suggestion in San Diego county is Mission San Luis Rey de Francia in Oceanside. It is a beautiful historic Mission that is steeped in a lot of California history. It was named for King Louis IX of France, and when you look at the architecture, you’ll see that it was designed with a royal flair. For directions, click here.
We hope you enjoy these local gems and enjoy your day trips around beautiful San Diego County. Before you go, however, please be sure to check your tires to make sure they’re properly inflated. Check your fluids levels to make sure your vehicle isn’t at risk of running low. And do a safety inspection to put your mind at ease that your vehicle is ready for any road trip, however short or long.
If you’d like our professional, family-friendly auto repair team to inspect your vehicle for you, simply request an appointment. We will be happy to take a look at your car so you won’t have to worry about any unexpected mechanical issues that could cut your day trip short.
